This month Esquire Magazine LatinoAmerica published a story by journalist Jeff Wise called Practical Guide to Overcome Fear. He describes a number of fearful situations and offers advice from experts on how to handle them rationally.

The Friendship Doctor weighed in on how to have an important conversation with your partner.

The psychologist Irene S. Levine suggests that perhaps you do not really need courage … but a piece of paper on which to write the whole story. Even if you decide to drop the bomb in person, writing what you feel you can make the conversation a little less difficult. “If you take the time to prepare a speech, you will be more calm, careful and less hurtful,” says Levine.
