Announcing a new beginning for The Friendship Blog
Some of you are new and many others have been long-time followers of The Friendship Blog. I’m writing to let you know that this blog will be transitioning to a weekly newsletter.
It’s hard to believe that I have been writing about friendship since 2007. Since that time, there has been a seachange in the landscape of websites and social media, and The Friendship Blog is in dire need of a “refresh.”
Over this same time period, interest in female friendships has remained universal–at every age and stage of life. Yet, there are still no clearly defined rules to navigate these vital relationships.
To help fill this gap, I’ve decided to migrate this blog to a popular newsletter platform. I will continue to answer reader questions about friendship and to distill the rules that can help us find and be better friends.
Friendship Rules: The newsletter
I recently launched a substack newsletter called Friendship Rules in partnership with my friend and colleague, Sheryl Kraft.
We hope you’ll subscribe to the newsletter, which will be delivered to your inbox every Sunday. We will answer your questions (anonymously); post short, easy-to-read think pieces on friendship; and publish brief essays, guest posts, and topical stories.
For the first three months after launch, subscriptions will be free. If you decide to stick with us afterward, the cost will be $5 a month or $50 for an annual subscription. In addition, during the first year, subscriptions will be complimentary for any student or teacher with an edu. email address.
We really hope you’ll join us! Take a look and sign up before you forget: Friendship Rules
In friendship,
Irene
